Commitment Leads to Accomplishments I was born and raised in the small town of Lindsay, CA where the population is about 12,974 people. I am the daughter of two hard working parents. My father, an agricultural worker, has been working since he was seventeen. My father has taught me that throughout life you never get anything handed to you. He said “That you will have to work for everything you want and achieve any goal you set up for yourself.” My mother who has been working in factories for twenty years she has been there to help my father support the family we have today. My mother is not only my mom but she is a friend to me and I know that if I ever need anything or just anyone to talk to she will always be there. I am the youngest out of two brothers and one sister. My family has always been my motivation in school and anything I wanna accomplish I know I can count on them for support. My parents have provided me with not only what I need but sometimes with what I want. I know that my parents want nothing but the best for their daughters and this is why I want to be able to make them proud. I have many goals set for myself some are being able to graduate high school and walk with the senior class, attending college and getting a good job. My freshmen and sophomore year I feel like I slacked off a bit and I should have taken my classes more seriously. I also should have just maybe just have been more involved with school events. Some people that have helped me achieve and set some goals are my family, friends, and most important my learning facilitators. My teachers have played a very important role in my life without them I wouldn't be able to have the education I earned over these years. I have had many teachers that have had me go beyond of what was expected and that's because they had faith in me. They believe I would be able to accomplish great things. If someone were to ask me advice about setting goals I would tell them to never take no for an answer. They shouldn't let anyone tell them they can't do something no matter who the person is. People will always have negative comments to say and you shouldn't listen to them. And most importantly to try their very hardest to accomplish their goal and as hard as it might be never give up. As someone once said “ Every accomplishment starts with the decision to try.” I can honestly say that I am very proud of how far I have came in life. I believe I have been more involved in school and I have been able to be able to communicate with my teachers and new friends. I have also become such a mature person ever since my freshmen year. I am so far on pace to graduate and I will try my very best to keep it that way until my last day at Lindsay High School.
